Summary

Amidst Oxa's swift growth phase after its Series A funding round, the need for additional capital became imperative. Entrusted by the CEO due to my acute industry insights as Marketing & PR Manager, I was tasked to spearhead the Series B funding round communications and management alongside my usual duties.

Objectives

(1) Raise Capital: Secure investment to support Oxa's scale-up phase and its stride towards commercialisation

(2) Broaden Global Presence: Amplify brand visibility beyond the UK and attract international investors

Execution

  • Collaborated with C-suite to facilitate investment activities

  • Appointed and liaised with investment advisory agency, GP Bullhound

  • Undertook comprehensive market research to formulate content and decisions

  • Orchestrated targeted PR campaigns and investment events to bolster brand recognition and showcase product

  • Organised events to generate fundraising leads and grow network

  • Developed pitch materials, ensuring brand cohesion

  • Managed internal funding communication for 200+ employees and externally across all platforms and touchpoints

  • Organised demos for potential investors and coordinated media training for key spokespeople

  • Collaborated with an external law firm on stakeholder communication and legal compliance

Outcomes

  • Secured $47M investment from global investors including BP Ventures, BGF, Tencent, Halma, and others

  • Achieved 148 pieces of coverage across 9 countries, leading to an additional $20M+ investment
